Requirements specifications

Creating a bridge between the businessmen and the developers by producing proper documentation.

One of the main reasons why software projects fail is because of improper technical documentation. Axeltra is aware that our clients, specialists in the business requirements, are often technically unprepared to translate the project scope into a technical document that will facilitate the project execution. On the other side, the developer’s domain is their technical knowledge  – this is what we call the business-IT gap.

The requirement specification is intended to provide the means to bridge this gap and for this reason Axeltra is hiring business specialists who possess skills in both areas, understanding the business logic and having adequate technical knowledge in order to produce documentation that can serve as a blueprint for the project development process.

The result of this consultancy phase is typically a SRS (Software Requirements Specification) that defines the scope of the project from both perspectives and serves as basis for creating other technical documents used for internal development purposes such as: technical documentation, UML charts or in cases of larger projects with a high level component design and most importantly the test cases document.

The SRS can also serve as basis for the contract signing between Axeltra and the customer as well as a tool for determining the precise project development cost and delivery estimation.
